As a citizen of a country you are the person who is entitled to a series of rights and has a few basic obligations, but you also have a moral responsibility of participating in decisions that are made for your nation on behalf of its citizens, of which you form an integral part. This is something that escapes a lot of people most of the time and this raises severe questions regarding how a country is run.

Raising awareness of the role of a citizen within his nation is an important social issue that has been heavily debated in the media for years on end. There is great pressure on citizens regarding their role in society but still there are none who truly understand this and what they should do. Change can only be made once it is forced and truly necessary, but without a substantial number of people showing interest for a change for the better, our future is lost in between documents, lost days and the lack of interest that most of us show toward social matters.

In today's world we see people showing interest to the more trivial matters of life. Of course, they all have their importance; however none of them is as pressing as the problem of raising social awareness towards matters of state. We see people showing an increasing interest in social networking sites, they want to have the latest gadgets and the expensive clothes, they buy make-up products and generic Viagra.

People are inclined to visit computer hardware websites and an online pharmacy to order various gadgets or Viagra online, and they spend a lot of time and money to buy Viagra or a lot of products that aren't very necessary, and then they complain about matters of state and how the country is run without showing a real interest in improvement.

Improvements can be made with the help of activism with the participation of the citizens of a nation, those who are interested in bending the rules and creating a better future for themselves an their children.
